I arrived at Amadeus Dubai Regional Office in 2019 as HR manager after several years in Amadeus Nice, France, and must say that I have found extremely useful the opportunities for networking that the FBC here in Dubai has created. Amadeus is a truly international company with presence in more than 190 markets and with an important representation in the MEA region for more than 10 years already. We therefore need to combine the implementation of global corporate policies with the regional and local labour laws and regulations, as many of other companies. The FBC has put me in contact with counterparts in other international companies based here, either of the same side or with interest, to seek advice on many human resources specific questions.  Subsequent local events during 2019 launched by the FBC have also allowed me to increase and solidify this network. I believe it is extremely important, in particular in these times, to communicate, share ideas and trends and get the experiences of other companies to accompany our decisions.

Votre démarche en venant nous voir, pourquoi le FBC ? Votre projet initial.

CEGELEC, société de VINCI Energies, est présent à Abu Dhabi depuis 1978 et nous menons depuis 40 ans des projets pour le compte d’ADNOC, principalement dans les domaines du contrôle industriel, de la génération de puissance et la distribution d’énergie.

Or les compétences et expertises de VINCI Energies dépassent très largement le secteur de l’industrie pétrolière et malgré notre présence à Abu Dhabi, nous n’avons que peu de connaissances sur le tissu industriel des Emirats de Dubai et du Nord et sur les différentes entités en charge des infrastructures de l’Energie, des Transports et des Télécommunications à Dubai et dans les Emirats du Nord.

Il a donc été décidé d’engager des actions de prospectives pour développer nos solutions sur ces segments et nous nous sommes tournés naturellement vers le FBC pour sa connaissance des différents décideurs locaux et prospects qu’il nous est nécessaire de rencontrer et de connaître pour notre développement.

Comment la mission réalisée ensemble s’est-elle passée ?

Nous avons d’abord expliqué et détaillé à nos interlocuteurs du FBC le modèle de VINCI Energies, les filières dans lesquelles nous intervenons, nos expertises, nos Clients, les projets que nous menons, ce que nous faisons et ce que nous ne faisons pas.

Ces explications pour mieux nous connaître se sont déroulées par téléphone, en face à face dans les locaux du FBC à Dubai, puis à nouveau par téléphone, certains exemples de réalisations ont aussi été envoyés.   

Sur cette base, le FBC a partagé une liste de prospects industriels ; nous y avons indiqué des priorités et le FBC a commencé à nous mettre en contact avec des personnes susceptibles d’être intéressées par nos solutions et a organisé, pour nous, les rencontres.

Quels en sont les résultats ?

Alors d’abord, les résultats doivent être envisagés sur le long terme : nos solutions doivent répondre à un besoin, les transformations technologiques que nous apportons doivent être anticipées et faire l’objet de provisions budgétaires prévues à l’avance.

Nous avons en tout cas commencé à prendre la mesure de l’industrie aux Emirats Arabies Unis, et autour de Dubai en particulier, industrie que nous ne connaissions pas jusqu’alors. Il y a parmi les industriels rencontrés, des grands noms du Food & Beverage, de l’Energie, de l’Environnement, des Transports, certains sont déjà nos Clients dans d’autres pays, nous ignorions leur présence aux Emirats et ils ignoraient la nôtre. D’autres ne nous connaissaient pas nécessairement et c’est l’occasion de nous faire enregistrer dans leurs bases de qualification, ce qui est un préalable nécessaire à une première consultation.

Il y a donc une première mise en réseau qui a son importance.

Ensuite, nous avons aussi pu rencontrer des personnes que nous cherchions à rencontrer car nous savions, par les études de marché que nous avions pu effectuer, qu’ils représentaient des opportunités sur un horizon plus court ; les rencontres organisées par le FBC ont été déterminantes et nous avons pu être consultés.

Enfin, étant sur une perspective de long terme, ces résultats sont amenés à évoluer et d’autres secteurs seront peu à peu explorés.
