Jean-Baptiste Djebbari was born on 26 February 1982 in Melun (Seine-et-Marne department). Graduating from the French National Civil Aviation University (ENAC) in 2007, he became an airline pilot for Netjets in 2008. From 2014 to 2015, he worked for the French Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC) on international subjects. In 2015, he was appointed as a legal expert to the Paris court of appeal and worked in particular on issues related to combatting undeclared work in the aviation industry. From 2016 to 2017, he became Director of Operations at the airline Jetfly. In June 2017, he was elected deputy for Haute-Vienne (2nd constituency). In 2018, he was the rapporteur of the draft rail reform law in the National Assembly. On 3 September 2019, he was appointed Secretary of State for Transport to the Minister for the Ecological and Solidary Transition. He succeeds Élisabeth Borne, who was appointed Minister for the Ecological and Solidary Transition on Tuesday, 16 July 2019. He was appointed Minister Delegate for Transport, attached to the Minister for the Ecological Transition within the government of Jean Castex on Tuesday, 7 July 2020
