Background:
- The UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world mobilizing over 15,000 organizations across 170 countries to drive progress towards the 10 principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption and the Sustainable Development Goals
- The UN Global Compact operates through 69 Local Networks, including four Local Networks in the Region: UAE, Lebanon, Jordan, and KSA
- The UAE Local Network drives the UNGC mandate from a local perspective and aligns with the Government of the UAE, which translates into a portfolio of engagement opportunities facilitating the integration of ambitious corporate targets for gender balance, climate action, youth inclusion, and the SDGs to the larger extent through facilitating engagement with the public sector, UN Organizations, civil society organizations and leading industries, capacity-building workshops and peer-to-peer learning
