In Thomas’s tax career spanning more than fifteen years, he has worked at tier 1 tax law firms in Brussels and Paris. Thomas moved to the Gulf at the beginning of 2017. He provides high-quality and innovative tax advice to clients. He has been involved in several high-profile deals and has worked for blue chip and quoted companies and institutions in various sectors (financial sector, real estate sector, retail, manufacturing, and the public sector). 

As a tax policy specialist, he was the Expert Study Lead for several VAT projects at the European Commission and was heavily involved in the drafting of the Saudi VAT law legislation and in the implementation of VAT with the Ministry of Finance of the United Arab Emirates. He is still working for different Ministries of Finance in the region for the implementation of tax legislation. 

He is also teaching tax law at Paris Sorbonne Abu Dhabi and the DIFC Academy of Law. He is hands-on, and proactive and combines a technical skill set with a sound understanding of what makes businesses tick. 

Thomas is the founder and Managing Director of Aurifer, which has offices in UAE and KSA and today counts more than 35 employees, and many foreign MNCs.
