2022RS22 - Business Line Manager

DataXchange was created in 2021 by a group of senior executives from the Research and Insights industry.

The company aims at providing its clients with unique data sets by sourcing them from other companies.
We believe that this approach combined with targeted new data set creation, can create a lot of value for all stakeholders: our clients (for whom the most valuable data is not always publicly available), our data providers (for whom this is often an opportunity to monetize a dormant asset, biproduct of their normal activity) and DataXchange.

Our approach is as follows: 1/Understanding our clients business challenges and how data can help them improve their business decisions 2/Creating business cases reg. which data set can help them 3/Sourcing data sets which can solve the challenges 4/Monetizing the datasets beyond the initial client request.

On the value chain of data DataXchange will initially act as a broker, then build unique datasets by combining sources, and finally provide insights and reporting.

We also capitalize on the company’s cofounders’ years of experience in consulting, marketing, and insights, as well as their understanding of retail, FMCG, luxury fashion and pharmaceutical sectors.

Your mission:

You will lead DataXchange’s activity when it comes to one of two business lines:

  1. Syndicated market data i.e. covering all the cases where DataXchange aggregates data from companies in an industry, sanitizes it and redistributes it to the same companies.
  2. Syndicated consumption trackers, where DataXchange sets up ongoing online surveys to track consumers usage habits of a certain category of goods / services, and sells the insights to all major stakeholders operating within that market

Your activity will have 3 key components:

  1. Strategize
    • Identify and prioritize sectors and categories where these market data needs exist
    • Qualify each category’s competitive landscape and the critical participants required to be onboarded into each panel
    • Assess our competitive environment
    • Prioritize opportunities into a commercial roadmap
  2. Commercialize
    • Deploy a process driven, systematic commercial campaign to onboard clients into each panel
    • Identify key stakeholders within each target company, reach out to them, and promote our solution
    • Hold industry wide meetings with all the relevant stakeholders to precisely define with them the parameters and scope of the panel / service
    • Develop marketing content to drive inbound leads
  3. Operationalize
    • Implement pilots and close deals by securing their participation and subscription
    • Implement and / or supervise the solution’s implementation by setting up the process, onboarding analysts, defining, and checking deliverables
    • Scale up the solution by going into adjacent markets (new categories or geographies)

Your skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in services / consulting / market research
  • Grit and autonomy
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, with good business acumen
  • Excellent relationship skills and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders (eg global or regional general managers of business lines)
  • Negotiation skills
  • Analytical skills and ease with data
  • Strong written presentation skills
  • Understanding of market research/data solutions
