2023RS27 - Financial Controller
Our client, A rapidly expanding consortium of businesses based in Dubai, specializing in logistics, software development, and trade finance, is seeking a Financial Controller, He/ She will be based in Dubai.
This group has a widespread global presence, operating in multiple regions, and boasts a workforce of nearly 2,000 employees.
The Financial Controller role will be part of an energetic environment and will involve overseeing all financial control and analysis activities related to the Transport division's operational performance. This includes reviewing monthly reports, conducting variance analysis against the budget, ensuring the achievement of operational KPIs, and coordinating internal control and other projects.
The position offers exposure to Senior Management and requires individuals who are self-driven and have a strong inclination towards achieving operational excellence, implementing automation, and driving digital transformation.
Main Responsibilities:
• Improve and monitor KPIs on key areas for the Transport division, such as transit times, fuel consumption, trip costs, etc.
• Act as the key contact at HQ level for reporting challenges faced by the local teams
• Review monthly closing and obtain relevant explanations on variances versus prior period and budget
•Review budget & forecast process
•Review annual statutory accounts
• Act as project coordinator for optimization of IT systems and reporting tools
•Provide guidance on drafting and implementing internal control policies and procedures
•Provide support on implementation of IT systems, and other projects (fleet expansion, cost efficiency programs, etc.)
Profile:
• 5+ years of overall experience in Finance
• Proven working experience as a Group Financial Controller in an international context is a must
• Exposure to Logistics and Road transportation in Africa is a strong advantage
• You have a knack for numbers and a passion for improvement
• Master’s degree in finance from a top university / school
• Only candidates with outstanding skills in Excel and data analysis will be shortlisted
• International travels might be required occasionally
