Valgerand Nordic Grill Brings the World-Renowned “Challenge Bouillabaisse” to UAE and Abu Dhabi for the First Time Valgerand Nordic Grill, the award-winning culinary destination located on Mamsha Al Saadiyat, is proud to announce the arrival of the iconic Challenge Bouillabaisse to the UAE capital. After touring Tokyo, New York, Mexico City, Copenhagen, and Geneva, this internationally acclaimed Provençal experience lands in Abu Dhabi for one exclusive night on Thursday, 11 December 2025.
Born at La Calanque Bleue on the Côte Bleue of Provence, France, the Challenge Bouillabaisse travels the world to showcase the authentic Marseille bouillabaisse—and to champion its recognition as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. For its Abu Dhabi edition, Chef Thibaud Bouttin and the Vahanian family will recreate their celebrated bouillabaisse using the same ingredients, products, and culinary techniques brought directly from Provence.
What to Expect
The evening opens with Maison Joseph Perrier champagne, paired with exclusive amuse-bouches and canapés crafted by Chef Alain Regnault, Executive Chef of Valgerand Nordic Grill, and his team. Guests will then experience the true Marseille bouillabaisse, followed by wine pairings from Jean-Luc Colombo, including the elegant “Lily Jolie” rosé and the rare “Les Anthenors” white (100% Clairette). Dessert comes from Provence itself: a frozen nougat reimagined by Pierre Mode, pastry chef of La Calanque Bleue, followed by coffee, tea, and a Provençal digestif. A Global Culinary Experience Comes to Abu Dhabi More than just a dinner, the Challenge Bouillabaisse is celebrated as a form of culinary diplomacy. Each edition attracts chefs, critics, diplomats, and gastronomes around the world, uniting them around heritage, culture, and the art of French cuisine.
