Chavan BhogaitaManaging Director and Head of Market Insights and Strategy First Abu Dhabi Bank

Chavan Bhogaita currently works as Managing Director & Head of Global Markets Strategy, Infrastructure and Market Insights within First Abu Dhabi Bank’s Global Markets business. He joined the institution in 2009, specialising in GCC credit markets (bonds and sukuk) and has since held various roles within the Global Markets unit. 

 

He has over 25 years of professional experience in banking and finance, of which 20 years have been in credit research and analysis, publishing his views and speaking to institutional investors around the world about his areas of expertise. His previous roles include Head of Middle East Credit Research at HSBC (Dubai), Head of Credit Research at Commerzbank (London), and senior credit analyst at Bear Stearns (London), and 6 years prior to his time in financial markets were spent in the areas of corporate recovery & insolvency, audit, and corporate finance in the UK. During his years in credit research Chavan was frequently quoted in media such as the Financial Times, Bloomberg, CNBC, etc.

In his current role, Chavan is responsible for a wide range of key areas within the Global Markets business of the bank including Strategy, Business Management, Infrastructure, Governance & Regulation, and Market Insights among others. He is a member of the senior leadership team of FAB Global Markets.

Chavan was the main architect, project manager and MC for the Global Financial Markets Forum which had become established as one of the most prominent financial markets events in MENA over the last decade. At this gathering he has interviewed live on stage former Heads of State and other prominent individuals including David Cameron, Tony Blair, Nicholas Sarkozy, General Colin Powell, Dr Mohammed El Erian, Dr Ben Bernanke, and Dr Larry Summers among others. At other gatherings, Chavan has hosted and interviewed personalities such as Michael Bloomberg, Sir Mervyn King, Anthony Scaramucci and others.
