Jelle Heyvaert is an e-invoicing and VAT specialist with a unique background spanning accounting, tax, and technology. With experience supporting both Belgian and international companies, he focuses on helping organisations navigate digital invoicing, Peppol integration, and e-reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

Jelle began his career at Deloitte, advising businesses on VAT, international regulations, and the growing interplay between tax and technology. This dual perspective—understanding both the financial workflows and the legal framework—gave him an early appreciation for how deeply invoicing, VAT reporting, and automation are connected.

Over the years, Jelle has guided large corporate groups, SMEs, and accounting firms through the transition to structured e-invoicing. His work covers Belgium’s 2026 mandate, Peppol BIS Billing implementations, ERP integrations (including SAP and Oracle), and cross-border e-reporting obligations. He is particularly known for translating technical standards into clear, actionable processes for finance and IT teams.

Currently, as a VAT and e-invoicing expert at Aurifer and Vatsquare, Jelle supports clients in modernising their invoicing and compliance processes—moving beyond basic legal requirements to unlock automation, reduce manual workload, improve data quality, and enable faster, more reliable reporting.

Jelle is also the co-author of E-facturatie Ontcijferd, a practical guide to e-invoicing via Peppol written with Philippe Kimpe. The book has become a reference for businesses, accountants, and software providers seeking clarity in an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.

Finally Jelle teaches as a visiting professor at two university college's guiding students and professionals on e-invoicing implementations.
