Niko CORNELISCEO - GCC, Managing Director - Generation International, ENGI

Niko Cornelis serves as ENGIE’s CEO for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Managing Director for Generation. 

Niko holds directorships in several ENGIE entities across the GCC. With over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, he has held a range of strategic and operational leadership roles across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
 

He began his career with ENGIE in 2003 and has since led major power and desalination operations, including as CEO of Hidd Power Company in Bahrain and COO – Thermal AMEA. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Flexible Generation GCC before stepping into his current role in 2024.
 

Niko also sits on the boards of several ENGIE entities in the region and holds an Engineering Degree from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and an MBA from Vlerick Business School.
