Laurent ESTRADEHead of Economic Mission - French Embassy in Irak

Laurent Estrade graduated from the French business school Hautes Études Commerciales in 1986. After joining the private sector, he began his career at the French Treasury in 1991 with a first assignment to the Economic mission of the embassy of France in Kuwait. 

He has held various positions at Economic missions of French embassies in Asia (Indonesia, Bangladesh and the Philippines) and Central America (based in Guatemala), alternating with assignments at the French Treasury in Paris where he has mainly been working on economic and trade relations between France and Sub-Saharan African countries. He had a 3-year assignment at the French Development Agency office in Mozambique in 2004. 

Laurent Estrade was appointed head of the Economic mission of the embassy of France in Iraq in 2023 after serving four years in a similar position in Saudi Arabia.
