Xavier Fresquet is Head of the Sorbonne Center for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI) at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, leading AI research and innovation in the UAE. He holds a PhD in musicology and digital humanities from Paris-Sorbonne and joined Sorbonne University in 2015. His research focuses on the intersection of musicology, medieval studies, and digital humanities, with recent work in machine learning and deep learning. 

He currently leads a national research project on reconstruction of Verdi's works using historically informed deep learning methods applied to musical scores and recently participated in the Molière Ex Machina project with OBVIOUS produce at Versailles in May 2026.
