Looking Back : Business Mission in Pakistan
Following the country conference about Pakistani political framework and business opportunities held in March 2018, the FBC organised a trade mission in Karachi in September 2018.
In September 2018, the French Business Council organized a delegation of companies in Karachi - Pakistan to explore the local market and business opportunities.
Introduction meeting with H.E. Ambassador of France in Pakistan, Mr. Marc BARETY, the Head of the Economic Department at the French Embassy in Pakistan, Mr. Philippe FOUET, the Consul General of France in Karachi, Mr. Didier TALPAIN, the AFD Country Director for Pakistan, Mr. Jacky AMPROU.
With the support of the French Embassy based in Islamabad and the Pakistan France Business Alliance, they had the opportunity to meet the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce & Industry representatives, and to visit Gul Ahmed, one of the major player in the manufacturing industry Pakistan, and Sanofi’s plant, a major French company present in Pakistan.

The objective of this delegation is to assess the Pakistani business environment. Besides, thanks to these visits, the networking dinners and B2B meetings sessions, the participants came back with a clearer view of their potential in the country and hopefully, will contribute to the development of economic relation between France and Pakistan.

What were your objectives when you join the mission ?
Francois-Xavier PADRIXE : "I joined this mission in order to have a global vision of Pakistan, its organization, economy and potential. I wanted to meet users of Personal Protective Equipment as well as distributors of such products in order to assess the existing distributing network and the already existing brands of our competitors."
Which parts of the programs have you particularly being interested in?
Francois-Xavier PADRIXE : "The variety of points of contacts allowed me to have a good scope of the market. I have been particularly interested in having the French authorities (French Embassy in Islamabad and the Economic Department of the Embassy) feedback in addition to the local players’ view."

Francois-Xavier PADRIXE : "I joined this mission in order to have a global vision of Pakistan, its organization, economy and potential. I wanted to meet users of Personal Protective Equipment as well as distributors of such products in order to assess the existing distributing network and the already existing brands of our competitors."
Which parts of the programs have you particularly being interested in?
Francois-Xavier PADRIXE : "Pakistan is an interesting market, closed to Dubai, which has been ignored so far. The local players are very professional and reactive. We will go on with our prospection approach of the country by coming back before the end of this year, our main objective is to finalize a distribution partnership and to be operational locally beginning of 2019."
