In anticipation of COP28, set to be hosted here in the UAE under the theme 'COP of Action,' we seize this moment to underscore VINCI's unwavering commitment to addressing the climate emergency. With urgency at the forefront, VINCI is swiftly taking measures to diminish its environmental impact, reshape its business practices, and pioneer innovative solutions.

The Group is steadfast in its determination to actively contribute to the ecological transformation of living environments, infrastructure, and mobility systems. VINCI Energies has seamlessly integrated VINCI's environmental aspirations into its own business activities, establishing specific objectives within three key areas.

Firstly, we are dedicated to curbing global warming, striving to keep the rise in temperature below 2°C by 2050. To achieve this, we pledge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our activities (Scopes 1 and 2) by 40% by 2030, measured against 2018 levels. To achieve this objective, VINCI Energies carefully measures the exact impact of its activities on the environment, especially by calculating its direct and indirect carbon emissions. For each of our business lines, we have developed greenhouse gas emissions calculators, empowering us to offer carbon assessments to our customers, guiding them in their projects.  The second area of focus involves minimizing our impact through a shift towards a circular economy.

Lastly, we are aligning our businesses with emerging ecological challenges by optimizing water consumption and striving for zero loss of biodiversity. Each of these three realms is meticulously outlined in an action plan that serves as our guide in transforming the ways we build, operate, and manufacture.  Our ambition extends beyond internal measures; we aspire to be a driving force in the sustainable transition of the most critical sectors in the region and worldwide.
